NCLEX examinations are developed and owned by the National
Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) The NCLEX exams are made to
check if new nurses have the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to safely
and effectively start working as nurses
The NCLEX exams are taken on a computer using a system
called computerized adaptive testing (CAT) and are given by Pearson VUE at
their test centers. In this type of test, the computer picks the next question
based on how you answered the last one. The NCLEX includes many different
topics, and it tests how well you can think through decisions related to
nursing care.
